Day 1: Pushkar to Jodhpur Journey

We started our journey from Pushkar to Jodhpur by booking a sleeper bus for Rs. 1240 per person. The 5-hour ride brought us to Jodhpur by 11 AM. From the bus stop, we took a rickshaw to Zostel, costing Rs. 150. After checking in and freshening up, we ventured out for lunch.

Our search for South Indian food led us to an adventure with a rickshaw driver who dropped us at an overpriced Chinese restaurant. Not deterred, we found a café nearby and ordered dosa for Rs. 220, with another Rs. 200 spent on rickshaw rides.

Mandore Garden Our next stop was the serene Mandore Garden, an ancient garden featuring beautiful architecture and lush greenery. It’s open from 8 AM to 8 PM, and the museum is accessible from 9 AM to 6 PM (Saturday-Thursday). Entry costs Rs. 10 per person. The sunset here was breathtaking, making it a perfect spot for photography.

Returning to Zostel by a local bus for just Rs. 10 per person, we decided to visit Toorji Ka Jhalra, but it was already dark. Instead, we spent the evening enjoying the rooftop café at Zostel, indulging in a Rs. 300 pizza while soaking in local music and views.

Our day ended with a shopping spree at the Clock Tower Market, where I bought a jacket for Rs. 800 and five Bandhani sarees for Rs. 5000.

Day 2: Exploring the Blue City and Beyond

We woke up early at 5 AM and started our day by walking through the Blue City towards Mehrangarh Fort, located near Zostel. The sunrise from the fort was mesmerizing. We even met a famous YouTuber, Vairagi Yatra, and clicked a picture with him!

Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park Our next stop was Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park, which costs Rs. 100 per person. This expansive park is ideal for nature lovers, with plenty to explore for at least two hours.

Mehrangarh Fort Afterward, we visited the iconic Mehrangarh Fort, a symbol of Jodhpur’s royal history. Entry tickets cost Rs. 200 per person, with an optional lift ride for Rs. 50. The fort’s intricate architecture and grandeur make it a must-visit. Plan to spend at least two hours here.

Jaswant Thada We then explored Jaswant Thada, a marble memorial often called the “Taj Mahal of Marwar.” Built in 1906, it’s a serene place with entry fees of Rs. 50 for international visitors and Rs. 30 for domestic tourists.

Lunch at Gpsy For lunch, we treated ourselves to an unlimited Rajasthani thali at the famous Gpsy restaurant for Rs. 510 per person. The meal included dal baati churma, gulab jamun, basundi, and much more.

Pachotiya Hills Our final destination was Pachotiya Hills, where we walked through the Blue City to witness an incredible sunset. The view from the top was stunning, offering a panoramic glimpse of Jodhpur.
